El Jalisco Johnston City

Was told to give this a place a try by my sister. Came in for lunch. Was sat quickly, drink order was on point and quick. Server gave us enough attention. Not to little or overly attentive. Ordered Chimichanga, Carnitas and Chili Relleno. All were very good. The Carnitas today were the best I've ever had. Very very good. The sides that come with each plate pretty much the same as everywhere. Beans, rice, Pico etc. Nothing new. They had a special on Margaritas. Ordered a small pitcher. Flavor was good, not to limey and tart, to sour. Everyone said they were good. Ordered single glasses. Still same flavor. Margaritas not notch. Will be back for sure.

Hands down the best food I've had in a long time. The service was great and the food was made quickly. We will definitely be back.

1,000% recommend El Jalisco in JC!! Service is great, the food is amazing! The margaritas are . Trust me just go! . My pictures are the lime margarita on the rocks. Their street tacos and the tacos alambre. . Remember to tip your servers!!

We're from Texas but visiting family in Johnston City, so we decided to try the one and only Mexican restaurant in town. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a TexMex food snob so I had at most medium expectations. However, I'm excited to tell you that the very large menu has so many great choices. I had the Mi Fajitas plate which is similar to a dish called Mixed Parillada in Texas, but actually BETTER. Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Also very large portion size and measurably cheaper than what I pay in Austin. The service was very friendly and amazingly fast. The atmosphere was very appropriate for a Mexican restaurant without overdoing it. So lots of choices, great food, good prices, and a nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend it. So why the 4 stars and not 5? Here's where the TexMex snob thing shows up. I like spicy salsa and the salsa at El Jalisco was good but not very spicy. So my only recommendation to the owners would be offer hot and mild salsas to choose from. Great place, and we'll be back.

Extensive menu. Our food was prepared very quickly, tasted great, and had large portions. Great service! Our waitor was attentive and fast. They also have a drive through.

Love el jaliscos every single time on Herrin and now Johnston city tio. Complimentary salsa & chips is included in carry out too! Who does that? These awesome folk do. The packaging if the carryout was spot on and definitely reheatable-friendly. 4 thumbs up everyone!
